The Wait

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”            —Anais Nin

Portulaca oleracea, ZooFari

The Wait

Somewhere deep beneath the snow
hidden under the frozen ground
the seed waits.

It’s calm there and quiet
as patience edges expectancy.

Potential is yet unmet
as with all births
in this natural rhythm of life,
coming and going
when the time is right,
faith the core of it all.
